Jamie Eason's Livefit Program

I've decided to get serious about weight training.  Yeah, I know, I also said I am getting serious about running...and serious about nutrition.  There's a lot of seriousness going on right now.  I really do need to strength train.  I've been a long distance runner for a couple of years now, and I'm still packing on a good (or not so good) extra 20 pounds.  I'm hoping that adding weight lifting will help me drop some weight.

I already have a gym membership, and have been known to show up here and there.  But, I've never really used an official program.  Upon hitting the internet for research, I came across BodyBuilding.com and Jamie Eason's Livefit Program.  It's broken into three Phases and offers a nutritional and supplement plan.  I was happy to see that the nutrition plan is basic clean eating rules, and the supplements aren't anything crazy.  Best of all, you can download their app "Body Space" and see each workout you need to do each day, complete with directions and videos.  I plan on taking my phone to the gym with me and using the app to track each workout.

It seems great, but it does say not to do cardio during Phase 1.  Yeah right!  If I don't run, I go crazy!  I plan on doing the Livefit workouts in the morning before work, and keep up with my mileage after work in the evenings.  I'm hoping that spacing workouts out will give me enough energy to give both of them my all.

I will keep you posted on results.  Today is day 1!
